Due to the situation caused by the coronavirus, this year's Polish Heritage Day celebrations will take place, but a slightly different form than usual. We invite everyone to participate in the Virtual Polish Heritage Day in Liverpool, organised by Merseyside Polonia on May 16, 2020 under the name "Sharing with You the Best of Poland, czyli co lubimy w Polsce". John Paul II Polish Saturday School in Liverpool, along with other Polish Saturday schools and Polish institutions, invites all children and young people to stay at home and join this year's Polish Heritage Day 2020 celebrations by participating in an art competition on the patriotic theme "What Polishness mean to me?".

The aim of the competition is to promote the Polish culture, history and heritage, and all the positive contribution of the Polish community to the social and cultural life of Great Britain.

The competition is open to all children and young people under 16 years old, regardless of whether they attend any Polish school. The competition will be divided into 2 age categories:
- children under 10 years
- children over 10 years and up to 16 years old.

The competition involves the preparation work of art (any technique) referring to the heritage of Polish history, culture and patriotic education based on a generational message. We ask that children express their polish identity through artistic work. What is Poland for them? How do they feel Polish?

We encourage you to send photos of your art works by 10:00am on Friday, May 15, 2020 to the following address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with:
• name and age of the author of the work,
• e-mail address to which information about a possible prize will be forwarded.

Submitted work will be published on the Polska Sobotnia Szkoła im. Jana Pawła II w Liverpoolu on Saturday, May 15, where the audience will be able to vote by liking their favourite picture. The results of the competition will be announced on the same page on May 17, 2020.

Winners of the top 3 places in each category (the most liked photo) will receive the title of laureate and a prize, founded by the Polish Saturday School in Liverpool.
